Keeping your saw blades clean is crucial for ensuring they perform optimally and last longer. Over time, resin and sap can build up on the blades, affecting their cutting efficiency and precision. Here's a detailed guide on how to clean your saw blades effectively.

Step-by-Step Cleaning Process

What You'll Need:

  • IDX20 Orange PRO, a concentrated citrus-based cleaner

  • A container large enough to soak the blade

  • A soft brush or cloth

  • Safety gloves

Step 1: Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Dilute IDX20 Orange PRO according to the instructions on the label. This industrial-strength cleaner is biodegradable and highly effective at breaking down resin and sap.

Step 2: Soak the Blade

Place the saw blade in the container and pour the diluted cleaner over it, ensuring the blade is fully submerged. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes. The citrus extracts in the cleaner will help to loosen the stubborn build-up on the blade.

Step 3: Scrub the Blade

Wearing your safety gloves, use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub the blade, focusing on areas with heavy build-up. Be careful not to damage the teeth of the blade while scrubbing.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Once you've scrubbed off all the residue, rinse the blade thoroughly with water. Dry it completely with a clean cloth to prevent any rust from forming.

Step 5: Reassemble and Store

After the blade is clean and dry, reassemble it onto your saw. Make sure to store your saw in a dry place to keep it in top condition.

Regular cleaning of your saw blades will not only enhance their performance but also extend their lifespan, saving you money in the long run. Happy cutting!
